SHES Clubs/Activities

We are excited to share the many opportunities available for students to get involved in after-school clubs at Steelton-Highspire Elementary! These activities give students the chance to explore new interests, build skills, and connect with friends.

Clubs Offered:

  • Chorus (Grades 4–6): Vocal music program. Tuesdays, 3:00–3:45 PM (Ms. Carter – jcarter@shsd.k12.pa.us)

  • Band (Grades 4–6): Learn and perform music with peers. Weekly during school; after-school rehearsals begin in November. (Ms. Suruskie – ksuruskie@shsd.k12.pa.us)

  • Art Club (Grades 3–6): Explore art beyond the classroom. Mondays, 3:00–3:50 PM (Ms. Pruzinsky – spruzinsky@shsd.k12.pa.us)

  • Library Club (Grades 4–6, 3rd if space allows): Promotes literacy and storytelling. Thursdays, 3:15–3:45 PM, October–May (Ms. Feldser – jfeldser@shsd.k12.pa.us)

  • Student Council (Grades 5–6): Leadership and school community involvement. Once a month on Tuesdays, 3:00–3:45 PM (Ms. Schaffer – dschaffer@shsd.k12.pa.us, Ms. Pugh – kpugh@shsd.k12.pa.us)

  • Girls on the Run (Grades 4–6): Builds confidence through movement and teamwork. Tuesdays & Thursdays, 3:15–4:45 PM, beginning in September (Ms. Rash – jrash@shsd.k12.pa.us)

  • Chess Club (Grades 4–6): Learn and enjoy the game in a supportive setting. Thursdays, 3:00–4:00 PM, starting late October (Mr. Hartzell – ghartzell@shsd.k12.pa.us)

  • Spirit Club (Grades 3–6): Promote school pride with posters and event decorations. Every other Wednesday, 2:45–3:45 PM (Ms. Harris-Slade – tharris-slade@shsd.k12.pa.us)

We encourage your child to join a club (or more than one!) and discover new interests while building lifelong skills. If you have questions, please reach out directly to the club advisor listed above.
